Cultural tourism in modern metropolises has a different way of development from that in small native societies or communities. Also, the consequences of such development may show features that have not yet proved attractive for serious researchers, especially in China. Most studies of cultural tourism focus on the impacts of tourism development on those typical and unique ethnic communities, and consequently ignore its counterpart in modern cities. This paper is devoted to describing and analysing the features of cultural tourism development in modern Beijing.
